About Cystic Fibrosis WA's Giving Day

There are close to 400 adults and children living in Western Australia with cystic fibrosis, and around 3,000 nationwide. Every day, researchers are working very hard to find a cure for this genetic, progressive condition. Together we can make DOUBLE the difference and inch closer to a future where lives are no longer affected by cystic fibrosis.
Families impacted by the condition need our help now more than ever. Thanks to support from some incredibly generous people in our community, your donation to Cystic Fibrosis WA will be DOUBLED for a short time only.

Help children like Oli who are living with cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a uniquely isolating disease. Children like Oli who are living with CF are not recommended to come within four metres of each other, due to the risk of cross-infection, and are not able to connect with other children like them.
Oli felt the emotional toll of being the ‘odd one out’. Then along came Cystic Fibrosis WA’s online CF Kids Connect sessions. The program builds social connection, which can lower anxiety and depression, help kids regulate emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and improve overall health and wellbeing. Your contribution assists us in providing hands on services to individuals with CF and their families.
Give the gift of connection to children with cystic fibrosis
Groups are kept small and are broken down into similar age groups so that content is relevant, safe and appropriate. Each session has a different theme such as Lego, playdough, baking, movies, show and tell and more! The sessions aim to build friendships and connect kids living with CF across WA.
"Oli has found a place where is accepted and doesn't need to explain his strict treatment regime to the other kids, as they are going through the same thing. As a parent it's great to know the kids are chatting to other kids and making connections in a safe online space."
