About Cystic Fibrosis WA's Giving Day

Thanks to our generous matching partners, every donation made up to $50,000 will be DOUBLED for 24 hours only.

There are more than 400 adults and children living in Western Australia with cystic fibrosis, and almost 3,800 nationwide. Every day, researchers are working very hard to find a cure for this genetic, progressive condition. Together we can make DOUBLE the difference and inch closer to a future where lives are no longer affected by cystic fibrosis.

Help children like Lillee who are living with cystic fibrosis

In the last few years, we have seen considerable progress in the treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF). Thanks to research and advocacy efforts, these life-changing treatments help enhance lung function and life expectancy for children like Lillee.

Lillee, who is now 10 years old, grew up being unable to participate in sports because of CF. Lillee would experience shortness of breath and due to illness, would spend 3-4 weeks at a time in hospital taking her out of school.

Thankfully, Lillee was granted compassionate access to a modulator treatment in 2022. Her lung function is now the highest it has ever been, allowing her to take part in activities she loves such as running, dancing, swimming, and netball.

We continue to advocate to ensure everyone can have access to effective therapies and ultimately, strive for a cure. Your contribution enables us to provide practical and financial assistance to families impacted by CF, and mental health and wellbeing support when it's needed.

Give the gift of home support to children with cystic fibrosis

Managing the daily treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) can be quite challenging. By donating on our Giving Day, you directly provide families with access to our home support services. This includes assistance with physiotherapy, psychosocial support, and short-term cleaning and respite. Together, these support services make a significant difference to the lives of families living with CF.

Our Giving Day is a fantastic opportunity to double the capacity of this support as any donation made will be matched dollar for dollar. Learn more about the support programs your contribution will help fund below.

"It is such a rewarding role, providing support to the client and their family when and where it is needed. It adds a little extra fun and distraction to the daily treatment and relieves pressure for the parents, giving them some much needed respite from the day-to-day routine.

We are the friendly constant that turns up each week and more often when the child or teen is unwell or when a little more help is needed."
