We're taking part in Sweatember
Every year in September I participate in a charitable movement challenge. Many of you joined me last year, motivating each other to move more after a slower winter. I’d love for you to join me again — or give it a go for the first time!
This year I’m doing Sweatember — committing to moving my body every day to raise funds for people living with cystic fibrosis (CF).
You may know, my background is in paediatric respiratory care and I have been working with children with CF for over ten years. CF is an inherited condition that mainly affects the lungs, sweat and digestive systems. It requires lifelong treatment, impacts everyday life, and currently has no cure. I have seen the charity Cystic Fibrosis Queensland (CFQ) make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with CF, providing boredom buster bags for kids in hospital, essential home equipment such as nebulisers, and tools to increase activity such as trampolines.
The challenge is simple: move your body every day throughout September. Walk, swim, cycle, dance, practise yoga or do whatever works for you — even ten minutes counts.
As always, for a bit of healthy competition, there will be a few prizes from me at the end of the month. Let’s get moving together and sweat for a great cause!
