65km for 65 Roses
Dan and I are challenging ourselves to run 65km each over the month of May to support those living with cystic fibrosis. We will also be challenging ourselves to complete 65 push ups, 65 squats, and 65 burpees each day.
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive genetic, life-long condition that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Current treatment for CF includes extensive physiotherapy, enzyme replacements with every meal (enzyme up!), continuous anti-biotics, and in some cases oxygen therapy is required and even lung transplant. In Australia one in every 2,500 babies are born with CF (that's one every 4 days!) This cause is close to my heart as Dan was diagnosed with CF at just a few months old! Despite multiple hospital admissions, PICC lines, central lines and expensive medication therapies he remains the happiest and most positive person.
There is currently no cure for CF which is why fundraising events like this are vital in raising money and awareness to one day find a cure and improve the lives of those living with CF. We've created this page because we want to support the important work being undertaken at Cystic Fibrosis WA.
