For Cystic Fibrosis

Looking for Your Next Challenge?

What about climbing to the top of Perth’s Matagarup Bridge and then ziplining your way back down? This is no walk in the park. You'll climb, shimmy, slide and squeeze through tight spaces to reach the top, 72 metres above the river.

All funds raised will help us continue our vital support services and research funding for people living with cystic fibrosis.

The Climb

The climb is a 2hr adrenaline experience where you and your teammates climb, shimmy, slide and squeeze through tight spaces to reach the SkyView – an open-air viewing platform 72 metres above the river. Once at the top you'll enjoy breathtaking views over the Swan River.

Matagarup Zip + Climb will coordinate 4 climbs up the main arch of the Bridge between 9am and 12pm, with a maximum of 10 participants per climb. This climb is not for the faint-hearted with the average gradient of the climb at 45 degrees! Prior to climbing, you will undertake a safety induction and be fitted with a full-body harness, helmet and a bridge latch device with a tether to ensure your safety at all times.

The Zip

Descend the bridge down the city side of the main arch to the 35m high launch platform and prepare for an adrenaline rush. Your guide will safely prepare you for launch, before you take off and feel the thrill as you soar through the sky riding the 400m zipline back down at up to 75km/hr. You will be brought in for a safe landing on the eastern banks of the Swan River where your family and friends can gather to watch.

Matagarup Bridge

Matagarup Bridge is a suspension pedestrian bridge crossing over the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. The bridge provides pedestrian access between Burswood and East Perth, connecting visitors to Burswood Peninsula, including the Optus Stadium.

Matagarup is the name of the land at the eastern end of Perth where the Swan River once became very shallow at times, and provided the only way across the Derbal Yerrigan for miles and miles for Noongar folks.

"In September 2021 I participated in the first Bring it on Bridge climb for Cystic Fibrosis to help raise funds for CFWA who greatly assist myself while raising my 3 year old with CF. This was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever done and would absolutely recommend everyone to give it a go. It was exhilarating and so much fun. I am generally afraid of heights, but the climb was nowhere near as frightening or exhausting as I was expecting. You have great guides and are supported and distracted by your family and friends climbing with you, knowing the cause, the accomplishment and the photo opportunities when getting to the top is totally worthwhile."  - Hailee
