Challenge Inspiration

Here are a few of our favourite past challenges to give you some inspiration!

Murph Challenge

Every year, Danny McNally and Mike Cahill at CrossFit SHP rally their community to take on the Murph Challenge in support of people living with cystic fibrosis. The fundraiser is a true test of mental and physical endurance – with participants completing a 1.6km run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1.6km run – all while wearing a 9kg weighted vest.

Thanks to the amazing efforts of the CrossFit SHP community, an incredible $14,489 was raised in 2025!

A special shoutout to Mike, who not only helped organise the event, but also completed the full Murph Challenge himself – all while living with CF.

Shari and Matt’s Nepal Trek

Siblings Shari and Mathew completed a six-day trek in Nepal, raising awareness and over $11,700 for cystic fibrosis!

Their inspiration for the challenge is a childhood friend who has CF. Shari spoke to the Albany Advertiser before the trek and said, “Growing up we have learnt and witnessed the difficulties he [their friend] has had to go through so this is very important to us." Read their story here
