CFWA Breathe Regatta 2025

Join us on Thursday 30 October for an afternoon of sailing on the picturesque Swan River to help raise funds for vital research initiatives and support services for people in WA living with cystic fibrosis.

Crews of 8–10 sailors, with no prior experience necessary, will receive coaching from their skipper on Foundation 36-foot yachts before competing in two exciting races.

Swan River Sailing will provide safety boats, course planning and coordination, race management, wine, and medals for the winners. Each yacht includes all safety and racing equipment, an experienced instructor, and an icebox stocked with water, soft drinks, mineral water, craft beer, and a bottle of premium WA wine.

The day will finish with a relaxed sundowner and a bayside party at the stunning Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.

When: Thursday 30 October

About Cystic Fibrosis WA

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a rare genetic condition for which there is no cure.

There are over 400 people living with CF in Western Australia, almost half of whom are children.

People born with CF have chronic health issues impacting many parts of the body including the lungs and breathing.

They must manage daily treatments, multiple medications and many hospital stays over a lifetime.

This regime is challenging and isolating. Meeting with others with CF is not recommended due to cross-infection being high risk.

Our services include airway clearance, exercise support, psychosocial and practical support for vulnerable people and those experiencing hardship.

We advocate for better treatments and fund research for a cure.
